Hi, Sir,

After checking, we are sorry that we don't have this PCB.

Thanks

What are the symptoms with the drive? How has it failed?

The range of disk you have is the last product that Maxtor made before they were bought out by Seagate. Consequently finding a part will be very difficult. Repair of the PCB might be a better option.

My 6h500r0 was in an enclosure, and someone plugged a 17 Volt printer adapter into it. Strangely, the enclosure board still works great, but the hard drive won't spin--either in the enclosure or in my computer.

I don't feel like pulling it out of its box right now, but it's a 6h500r0 (memorized because I've been watching eBay like a hawk) DiamondMax 11...don't know the other numbers.

So if the power circuitry is all that is damaged, how can one repair a PCB (or pay someone else to)?

For some reason, I saw a ton of these on eBay a few months ago, but I didn't win any of the auctions. Didn't see anymore until tonight, and the only one is a Seagate---I don't imagine it would have an identical board/firmware.

If anyone has any leads or any parts, help hyphenpipe first, then give me a call.

Thanks,

I think quite possibly I am confusing the model number. Before it is possible to start offering help on repairing the board or replacing the PCB it is necessary to have the details from the front of the drive.

There are several numbers that are important:
The model of the disk.
"Code"
and the the serial number.

It is probably easiest if you take a high res picture of it.

Also there are 5 characters on the longer rectangular sticker underneath the bard on the PCB. I can't quite see them on the picture you have posted. The first and last letter is 'A'

All the best,
John

The link to your photo is dead. If you could repost it, there may be a simple DIY fix.

Can you describe the failure symptom?

Many times the problem is only a shorted TVS diode, in which case it can simply be removed.

I'm buying some 6H500R0 on Ebay. I couldn't find someone who sold just the PCB, so I had to get the whole thing. The codes were AFGHA and AHGHA, I didn't know I also should have checked the serial number.
