Firmware Revision: T1 (underneath PCB White Tag)

This is not a firmware revision.
What exactly do you need? Whole drive or PCB?
What are the symptoms of the failure?

ticking and PCB fired? i guess your ticking is making clicking noise.
1, how did you know it making clicking noise? change another PCB? it need swap ROM or transfer FW. have you done it before? without it can't make sure hard drive is true clicking. may be it isn't matching PCB attach.
2, how did you know PCB is fired? can you find out any burned parts on PCB?

yes i need a replacement drive and yes we need to match the rom information on the pcb to the platters and the pcb has a burn't chip and i also believe the preamp for the heads has been fried. the platters are fine.

I am looking for the WD10EADS-00m2bo 1tb green. I got a 2011 drive and that board works on another 2011 drive I needed to recover, but I have a 2009 drive and even with a rom swap the drive doesnt get detected. I am convienced I need the matching pcb for this to work as I do believe the pcb is the problem because our pet ferret was in the pc and I think it was damaged due to ESD.. I tried plugging the connector in and snappped it off and made matters worse by trying to solder it before practicing with an old drive. I got the heat gun tactic down now unfortunally.... need drive as close to the following

MDL WD10EADS-00m2B0
WWN: 50014EE2038bdc4c
Date: 23 oct 2009
PCB White Sticker: 2061-701640-202-03pd9 xf 8r26 c966 9 000610 0166
on green Board: 2060-701640-002 rev a

Anyone with info is kindly asked to email me at simbalage21a@gmail.com

[/img]

Oh and the data is important to me (kids pics ect..) but not worth the expensive expense to pay to have it recovered Sad

some suggestion here.
1, try again with original ROM chip with good PCB. if don't work check ROM chip every pin and try re-soldering. still don't work may be ROM is dead or hard drive inside problem.
2, attach 2011 hard drive PCB without ROM chip swap. see hard drive can be spin or no.
both way don't work i think it inside has problem. take care your data. send it to professional will save your money.

Still no data, drive is sitting awaiting time, patience, and the right pcb.. I smoked the rom.. and did several test which costed a little money but I learned. 3 2011 roms same pcb 2 swapped and 1 did the same thing mine does when i try other pcb.. spins up and fails to find the starting sector. drive fails to mount.. So I have come to the conclusion with a dead/now lost eeprom, I will need to find an identiacal drive and hope the eeprom is written to have the same paremeters as my original
