Hi

I have to Hitachi Deskstar drives that are different models but both have head problems. once powered they beep and the head keep clicking

After researching some say it could be the PCB board. I tried with another pcb board I borrowed but still the same

If any one has a PCB board for the following drives. Please let me know
I have included images of the boards I have. Images taken from on-line sources

HDS722580VLAT20 (Drive model number)
PCB Board (08k1976) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/harddrivepcb/5061344531/lightbox/)

HDS722540VLSA80
PCB Board (13G0869) (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PCB-HDS722540VLSA80-P-N-13G0869-MLC-BA1184-DP-N-0J3800-/350369553439#ht_831wt_1139)

If it is not the PCB then I am sure it is the heads. I can do a head swap but do not have any similar donor drives to take the heads from

If any one has any information on how to fix this or has any spare parts for these drives then please get in touch
I am based in the UK

Thanks

Well finding parts for such old models would really be a pain in the first place, Secondly there would be no guarantee that it might work or be compactable with the one you have now. It is a fifty-fifty chance. Let me see what I can find.
