Hello guys,
I have a 500gb seagate hd that fall just on the side and it started making a noise like something got loose and is moving inside.
It is not the click of the dead. I had another hd that had the clickingh noise, but this one does not has for sure the clicking noise. It has another problem.
The noise is from something that is moving inside.
If u peek up the hd and you move it around, you can fell and hear somethin moving in the inside.
When the HD was powered on, you could feel like it was trying to sppen, but there was some mechanicl noise that was blocking it from spinning.

Do u have any idea what it could be ?

Is there any way that buying an identical hd, I could repalce the broken part ?

Is there any part of the inside of an hd that can get loose from the inside and make noise ? It seems like there is a big peace moving inside .

Than kyou

If your drive does not spin up, but you can feel it is trying, your drive has stalled.

You can have some parts that became loose due to a fall.
If you really concerned about data, don't turn that drive and don't shake it.

You won't be able to solve this problem on your own, unless you had few years of experience.

Seek for a professional help.

I opened the hd , and it seems that the platters spins but moves also around. It is like they came out of some guide.
They do not cirle around, they move around and make metal noise while cirling and moving around

I think they are not in place anymore.

Whati is that ?
How is it possible ?

Is there any way to put in place the?

Is there any way to remove the platters and mount them on an identical brand new hd ?

thank you

Do the screatches need to be seen at naked eye ?

I do not see any screatches at all....at naked eye , just finget sign.
It reflects the light perfectly.
The motor broke and makes the platters speen all around. The platters do not have a perfect rotation, they move around.
I made few pics and 1 video:
