I have 40gb Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8 & need the data inside.
I try to scan in MHDD & found a few bad sector. But when I run it, it only detect in bios not in OS. The hard disk doesn't exist in My Computer.
Is it because of the bad sector the hard disk can't detect or because of other thing? I can't erase the bad sector because I need the data inside.
Please, I need some advice.
Thanks.

Clobe the drive first using sector to sector option (preferably using CopyR.DMA or Diskpatch). Don't do anything to those bad sectors.

After cloning process finished, you can the clone drive using any logical recovery software (Recuva, or TestDisk for example)
