Upon removing the old PCB, I saw that a chip was fried/melted (hence why I saw smoke before it died).

I ordered a replacement PCB from UltraTec.co.uk labeled WD800AB-22CBA1. Great price, arrived quickly (from Gatwick UK to Los Angeles, CA USA) in 3 days, popped it in, and VOILA!

There is also a company on eBay that sells PCBs for hard drives, but the price was VERY steep (circa $125). I was only able to find one full hard drive for this exact model, and the company wanted $200! I guess it is an antique.

Thank you for creating this site. Hopefully with time hard drive manufacturers will start selling replacement PCBs.
