Hello everyone,

I have a little question :

In order to change my PCB (only to backup my data), will I need a PCB with all the same caracteristics than mine ? Or a PCB with the same caracteristics but with a different main ic controller will works ?

I need a PCB for :

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500 Gbytes SATA

ST3500630AS
P/N : 9BJ146-308
Firmware : 3.AAK
Date Code : 07384
Site Code : TK

Main IC controller : Agere TTB4398A0

Thx !

Hi,

There are three messages need to be matched for Seagate HDD PCB:
1. The No. of first line of the biggest chip of your PCB, such as "100..."
2. The No. of first line of the SMOOTH chio of your PCB, such as "100369972", or "SH6960B E", or so on...
3. The PCB No. in the back side of your PCB which have some words "REV"

Sometimes two above information matched is OK.

After get the matched PCB, swap the Rom (BIOS chip) is needed.

And if it doesn't work by swap PCB, we suggest you to find a pro near you.

Hope these would be helpful for you.

Thanks

Thx for this fast reply ! Smile

1. The No. of first line of the biggest chip of your PCB, such as "100..."

I think that you want to speak about the biggest chip on my picture :

agere
TTB4398A0 (so, this one is important, right?)
SEAGATE
0703T
1883717
10MM000

2. The No. of first line of the SMOOTH chio of your PCB, such as "100369972", or "SH6960B E", or so on...

I think that you want to speak about the little chip on my picture :

SH6960B E (so, this one is important)
72A1YKT
G4

and for : 3. The PCB No. in the back side of your PCB which have some words "REV"

I will look it tomorrow (I have no TORX at home... but I have it at my work)

So the informations about P/N, site code, firmware, ... are not important ?

Because,

I've seen on ebay, the same PCB than mine, but the problem is that the main chip controller is not the same (biggest chip). Will it work ?

I've seen an other PCB on ebay, same than mine, but the capacity is 400GB and mine is 500GB. Will it work ?

The only one thing is to backup (recover?) my data. I don't want to keep this HDD. I only need my data.

Thx for help Smile

Hi,

1.
agere
TTB4398A0 (so, this one is important, right?)
SEAGATE
0703T
1883717
10MM000

Sure, you are correct.

2.

SH6960B E (so, this one is important)
72A1YKT
G4

Sure, that's correct.

3. Regarding the PCB No., you need to remove to PCB from your HDD.

4. So the informations about P/N, site code, firmware, ... are not important ?

If you only want to swap PCB, it is not important.

5. I've seen on ebay, the same PCB than mine, but the problem is that the main chip controller is not the same (biggest chip). Will it work ?

You need to match the No. as above "TTB4398A0"

6. I've seen an other PCB on ebay, same than mine, but the capacity is 400GB and mine is 500GB. Will it work ?

If you could match these total three information. it works.

7. The only one thing is to backup (recover?) my data. I don't want to keep this HDD. I only need my data.

I could understand. Hope you could get it back soon.

Thanks
