My house took an almost-direct lighning strike. It fried one TV, one satellite receiver, a VCR, a video capture device, AND my backup drive with almost 6 years' worth of MP3's and software images. They were stored on a 200 GB Maxtor in a portable enclosure, and I had another 200 GB Maxtor in another enclosure that was fine. Well, you guessed--I swapped the circuit boards and am buring all my "lost" stuff to DVD as I write. HALLELUJAH!
