I also have a dead HD, I'll try to replace the old HD circuit/logic board with a new one. I just have one question, the only difference is the Serial number right? How about the P/N? Thanks a lot!

You have to provide a full model number and other info in order to help you better.

Oh yeah. Im sorry. Here's my old (dead HD)

Barracuda 7200.7 (Seagate)
40 Gbytes
S/N: 5JX7BKQ7
P/N: 9W2005-314
HDA P/N: 100278282
Config: D5D - 02
Firmware: 3.06
Date Code: 04337 Site Code: WU

I saw somewhere with different S/N. like 6GH5CTY3 and also the P/N is different.

Hi,

If you are going to replace the PCB, matched the PCB number which have words "REV" will be OK, and then swap the rom chip before you replace PCB.
