SEAGATE 500 GB H.D.D NOT DETECTING IN BIOS AND IT HANGS THE PC.
ALSO AFTER OPENING UP I FOUND THAT THE SMOOTH IC (AS WRITTEN ON THE IC'S) IS LITTLE BIT HOTTER THE OTHER IC'S. HOW CAN I FIND THE BAD COMPONENT.

It does not sound like a PCB problem.
Most likely you have internal damage to the drive.

i have this PCB in stock. does your drive spin up now? "hangs PC " are you meaning in bios booting screen?

If I connect this hdd, and i try to enter the cmos setup ultility it hangs and if comes doesn't show up the hdd.

The drive is spinning ok and there are no sounds

I would rather buy a new h.d.d then buy a logic board.


please tell how to check for all the necessary voltages on this logic board.

hi,
98% sure it's no the PCB problem. and you can check the condition with MHDD. or you can swap it to similar drive as well. check the voltage of the PCB may be hard to do. as it may have much difference on your drive.

How do you know the adapter is working? If you connect the Tx and Rx wires together, can you see characters being echoed on your screen when you type? If so, and if you now separate the Tx and Rx wires, can you still see echos when you type?

when you connect it with PCB and power it up then you know it work or no. also sometime only TX & RX may won't work if you got experience Wink
