An old Quantum Fireball 13 gig that a chip blew out on the controller
board or card while it was full of needed and good stuff.
I replaced the controller card from an almost identical drive, attached
it to my PC , then booted to the BIOS for recognition. It was seen in
the BIOS so I saved and exited.
The computer booted but the windows explorer would not open any file
tho the task bar had the box of a minimized window and would not open.
After short consideration I decided to open up nero (version 5592 for liteon) and the drive was there in the nero explorer and everything
was fully copyable to any drive in nero or ready to burn.
Seems to have side stepped the HDD BIOS ?
I dont really know or understand... YET!!!

The reason I thought to do this is:
I have an old burner in my net PC, with my burning program (newer)
I can burn a disk with an ISO or file type that the same burner cannot read outside of the burning program and that same disc will read on a newer CD ROM.

This is the first time on this site for me so I don't know if there has
been anything similar written.
A friend spoke of this site yesterday Oct25 05 so now I must go LOOK

Hope this info helps someone in need ...The TOOL HOG
