Hi the drive details are:-
Hitach 640GB
P/N 0A38114
Model: HDT721064SLA360
MLC: BA3013
On the board itself there is the following code: 0A29985BA3129-MfF852N6Z8
When the drive was connected to the power there was a smell of the circuit board burning.. I would like to see if with a new logic board the drive spins up ok |

It sounds like your problem may be a shorted TVS diode, in which case the solution may be as simple as removing it with flush cutters.
If you upload a detailed photo of the component side of the PCB, one of us will identify the faulty component for you.
BTW, a board swap will probably not work. You need to transfer the NVRAM chip from patient to donor. Once again, a photo will help us identify the NVRAM for you. |

Hi, i have this HD wich try to spin but it cann't.
Always the same.
Try to spin, make a noise, stopped, and again try to spin, make a noise, ...
I found a new HD, same Model HDT721064SLA360 but Date of 2010 and 2011.
Is it possible to fix the old HD?
Do I need something else?
