Hi all.

Ive decided to try and recover some data from my dead hard drive.

Ive done a little reading and by the sound of it, the click click is coming from the heads. before I read a few posts here I cracked open the case to see what was going on. The heads are wiping back and forth clicking on apon return.

I can get a replacement drive same model and specs for $20, big question is am I wasting my time and i wont be able to recover anything?

Its a segate 40Gb IDE HDD ST340810A
HDA 100188744 Firmware 3.39

Thanks Smile
