My WD 320 GB Hard drive bit the dust this past week and there's a lot of data that I need to try to recapture (Yes I know backups backups backups....)

Here's what info I have without pulling the current PCB off yet:

MDL: WD3200AAKS-00SBA0
Date: 09 APR 2007
DCM: HBRCHV2CHN
Interface: SATA
On PCB: 2061-701444-800 AA XC 3Z03 1N3V 9 0006380 7385

Haven't seen anything that tells me the firmware version at this point. ANy and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Getting corrupted or dead hard drive back to function is quite challenging. The posts that you are publishing in your blog about fixing the issues with hard drive are very informative and I would love to try out some steps myself.
